ADNA Senior Handicap Netball Tournament 2008

There were 2 handicap tournaments this year, titles being battled out between division 1 and the upper half of division 2, and then the lower half of division 2 and division 3. 

Division 2 / 3 Tournament

The division 2 / 3 tournament was battled out between CNR, Cowie Blacks, Newmachar 2, NST, Turriff and Westhill 2.

Turriff were triumphant with Cowie Blacks coming in second.

Division 1 / 2 Tournament

Beacon ‘A’ storm through to take the Handicap Trophy of 2008! (by Linda Thomson)

 With the final 2 matches set to be tense and Beacon ‘A’ having to make up a huge deficit of goals, the players showed poise and determination to win.

 Having already won beaten Chevron 19-7 and Hazlehead 17-16 as well as drawn 17 all against Westhill, the night was set to go down to the wire.

The first match was against old rival Beacon B!!

Although Beacon B ran out with a 10-3 start, Beacon quickly made up the difference, becoming eventual winners at 23-12. 

The final match was set to be the crunch, against Newmachar 1. Beacon ‘A’ started 7 goals behind at 2-9. Slick passing, careful interceptions and sharp shooting from the circle edge pushed Beacon ‘A’ into a 21-15 win. Teamwork and control won the day.
